About the Challenge

Participants need to prepare a 6-8 minute English speech and a corresponding PowerPoint presentation focused on sustainable development and global cooperation issues, demonstrating their insights into the future world and solutions. 

During the Harvard Sustainability Challenge, participants will engage in an exciting online speech competition, showcasing their deep understanding of sustainable development and innovative thinking through their presentations.

Harvard US-Asia Youth Sustainable Development Challenge 

Beijing Time June 15, the Harvard US-Asia Youth Sustainable Development Challenge was successfully held. This challenge attracted young people from all over the world who brought unique solutions to global sustainability challenges, covering a wide range from ecological conservation to smart city management. These young innovators, utilizing the latest technological achievements and creative thinking, proposed comprehensive solutions aimed at addressing environmental, social, and technological issues, showcasing the responsibility and creativity of future leaders.

Ecological Protection and Gender Equality

The first contestant's plan, "Ecological Protection and Gender Equality," emphasizes integrating the principles of gender equality into environmental governance, improving the efficiency and fairness of decision-making. This innovative idea breaks through the limitations of traditional environmental policies and proposes a new solution for sustainable development of both society and ecology.

Seeds of the Future

The second contestant introduced a project called "Seeds of the Future," which aims to enhance vegetation coverage in urban and rural areas through innovative seed paper technology. This project integrates environmental education with practical application, using biodegradable materials and carefully selected plant seeds to promote the combination of environmental protection and ecological education.

Smart Light Technology - Illuminating the Future

The third contestant's "Smart Light Technology - Illuminating the Future" project showcased a smart street lighting solution that enhances urban lighting systems through high-tech integration. These street lights are not only energy-efficient but also enhance the intelligence of urban management through the integration of AI, IoT, and 5G technologies, demonstrating the potential application of smart city technologies in modern urban life.

At the end of the competition, the judges asked targeted questions based on the contestants' presentations, and after evaluating all criteria, they scored the contestants. This challenge not only reflected the vitality and creativity of youth in the fields of technological innovation and environmental protection but also provided new perspectives and solutions for global sustainable development issues. The US-Asia Sustainable Development Foundation used this challenge as a platform for international exchange and cooperation, encouraging young scholars to contribute their wisdom and strength to global environmental and social issues.
